Beer Tasting Weekend – February 7th & 8th

We’re rather proud of the lineup of craft beer we carry in the Raven’s Roost Pub. One of our favorite parts of running the pub is finding new brews to put on the menu and share with you. When we find a beer we really enjoy, we usually try to bring in more offerings from that brewer. Even so, our limited shelf space means we can only feature one or two items from a given brewery at a time – no matter how much we enjoy their product.

So we set out to find a better way to share these wonderful breweries with you, our guests. We thought to ourselves, what’s better than just bringing in more brews? Why, bringing in the brewers of course!

But like everything else we do here at Ravenwood, we wanted to create a unique experience. And thus was born the first ever Ravenwood Castle Beer Tasting Weekend. No ordinary beer tasting, this event is two full days of good food and great beer, all in a castle!

Dinner Friday night will feature the Maumee Bay Brewing Co. Hailing from the northwestern corner of Ohio, Maumee Bay is the creator of one of our favorite stouts – the Total Eclipse Breakfast Stout. You can be sure Total Eclipse will be making an appearance Friday evening, along with several other brews from Maumee Bay’s lineup – all presented by the brewery’s manager, Shannon Mohr.

Dinner Saturday night will continue our spotlight on Ohio breweries, featuring the Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. out of Akron, Ohio.  We will be joined by Stephen Ellison from Thirsty Dog, who will be sharing several of their finely crafted brews.  Stay tuned for the exact menu!

While we absolutely love Ohio breweries, there are quite a few fine entries on the Raven’s Roost menu that are – sadly – brewed some distance from central Ohio. Unfortunately bringing folks from these breweries here is somewhat impractical, but that doesn’t mean we can’t share their beer with you! Saturday afternoon will feature a tasting of several of our favorite non-Ohio brews. Given our last few Beer of the Month picks, it’s fairly safe to assume there will be a few entrants from the Rocky Mountain region on the list.

So join us February 7th and 8th for a weekend of great craft brews! Tickets are $75 per person and include dinner Friday and Saturday nights, a commemorative Ravenwood Castle pint glass, and samplings of at least twelve beers throughout the weekend. Click the “Reservation” button at the top of this page or call (740) 596-2606 to book your room now!

Please note that the event starts with dinner on Friday. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Friday evening.
