Beer Tasting Weekend – June 10th & 11th

Some of my favorite events here at Ravenwood Castle are our weekend long beer tastings. We’ve had a lot of great breweries visit over the years, and I am pleased to announce that two of my personal favorite breweries will be joining us for our next Beer Tasting Weekend, to be held June 10th and 11th, 2016. Like all of our tastings, this is no ordinary beer tasting dinner. This event spans two full days of good food and great beer, starring two great breweries!

Dinner Friday night features Heavy Seas Brewing out of Maryland. Michael Fisher from Heavy Seas will be joining us to share their great lineup of brews. Friday’s dinner will include Steamed Mussels with Smoked Jalapeno Dust paired with Smooth Sail American wheat ale; Greek Chop Salad with Feta paired with Pounder Pils; Coffee Crusted New York Strip steak paired with Loose Cannon IPA; and Red Velvet Cupcakes with Candied Bacon Cream Cheese Frosting paired with the limited release Plank IV Belgian style ale.

Saturday’s dinner will feature Fat Head’s Brewery out of Cleveland. Sara Cleary from Fat Head’s will be joining us to discuss their offerings. Saturday’s menu will feature Smoked Chicken Wings tossed in Bourbon Sauce paired with the award winning Head Hunter IPA; Spinach, Orange and Strawberry Salad paired with one of my personal favorites, Bumble Berry honey blueberry ale; Pastrami Hash paired with Trail Head American Pale Ale; and Belgian Chocolate and Dried Cherry Brownies paired with the limited release Sorcerer Belgian Style Dark Strong Ale.

As has become traditional in our beer tasting events, we will have an informal tasting Saturday at noon. Saturday’s lunch tasting will focus on some of our favorite offerings from the Raven’s Roost menu.

Please join us June 10th & 11th for a weekend of great craft brews! Tickets are $75 per person and include dinner Friday and Saturday nights, and samplings of at least a dozen beers throughout the weekend. Click the “Reservation” button at the top of this page or call (740) 596-2606 to book your room now!

Please note that the event starts with dinner on Friday. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Friday evening.
