We hold a lot of different types of events here at Ravenwood Castle. Some of my absolute favorite are our weekend long beer tastings. I’m pleased to announce the next in our series of Beer Tasting Weekends, to be held June 9th & 10th, 2017! Like all of our tastings, this is no ordinary beer tasting dinner. The event spans two full days of great food and even better beer, starring two amazing breweries!
Dinner Friday night features a newcomer both to our events and our Raven’s Roost Pub lineup, Rogue, all the way from Oregon! Seth Bunton will be joining us to share their great lineup of brews. Friday’s dinner will include: Smoked Brisket Potato Skins with Cheddar, Scallions and Sour Cream paired with Rogue’s signature Dead Guy Ale; Goat Cheese, Toasted Almond and Dried Cranberry Romaine Salad paired with 4 Hop IPA; Grilled Maple Brined Pork Chops with Green Beans and 3 Cheese Gratin Potatoes paired with Hazelnut Brown Nectar;, and finishes with Mini S’Mores with house made Marshmallows and Graham Crackers paired with Rogue’s Cold Brew IPA. There will be more Rogue brews available in the Pub, including one of my personal favorites, Brutal IPA.
Dinner Saturday night will feature another newcomer to Ravenwood Castle, Ballast Point from California. Stephen Ellison from Ballast will be joining us to discuss some of the amazing beers in Ballast Point’s arsenal. While Stephen and I are still working on narrowing down just which beers we wish to feature. The dinner menu itself is completed, and will feature Wood Fired Flatbread with Bacon, Caramelized Onion and Rosemary; Cucumber, Pepper and Tomato Chop Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette; Smoked Chicken Thighs with Grilled Vegetables and Basmati Rice; and Three Berry Cobbler with Whipped Cream. Stay tuned for details on the great beers that will pair with each course.
As is a tradition in our beer tasting weekends, we will have an informal tasting Saturday at noon. Saturday’s lunch tasting will focus on some of our favorite offerings from the Raven’s Roost menu.
