Murder! Mystery! Training!
Do your employees run for cover when they hear the word “training?” Have past training efforts proven to be less effective than desired? Perhaps it is time to approach training in a different way. Enter the Murder Mystery Training!
Ravenwood Castle is partnering with L&L Training Solutions of Columbus to provide unique corporate team building and training events. We offer a variety of standard or custom training workshops. Our most popular offering is the new Murder Mystery Training.
We conduct a training session for you in the morning, covering your choice of various “soft skills”, ranging from emotional intelligence, effective communication, working with difficult people and managing conflict. Then we custom design a half day murder mystery for the afternoon that requires participants to use the information presented in the morning training session.
Past participants have told us they leave the day with a “brain cramp”, but that they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Better yet, they not only learned a lot but were able to apply what they learned.

Working With People You Can't Stand
Have you every observed someone’s behavior and thought, “what planet are they from?” Have you ever heard yourself thinking, “I just don’t understand why anyone would act like that?”
The reality is until we understand the driving forces behind people’s behavior we will never be able to deal with those behaviors effectively. This fun, fast paced workshop will help you to understand why people behave the way they do and will provide you with specific, practical steps you can take to deal with each of the problem behaviors.
What Makes Teams Work
Have you ever wondered why some teams seem to “click” and some don’t? If two people on a team disagree, how does the team decide whom to listen to? Is conflict normal for a team? If everyone on the team gets along and there are no disagreements, is that a good thing? What’s the big deal about teamwork anyway? Is communication really an issue for teams?
Attend the workshop “What Makes Teams’ Work” to find the answer to questions like these!
The workshop is participatory, fast paced, informative, practical, and just plain fun! You will participate in a number of exercises and simulations designed to help you understand how teams work and how to manage and/or lead them more effectively. Successful teams don’t just happen, it takes a knowledgeable and skilled leader to create them. This workshop will help you acquire the skills needed to be a successful team leader.
I'm Not Crazy, I'm Just Not You
Why is it that we find it easy to communicate with some people and difficult to communicate with others? Why is it that we seem to be “on the same wavelength” with some people and from a different planet than others? Why is it that another person can consider the same information we have and reach a totally different conclusion?
The fact is we are different in basic ways. We have natural preferences which influence how we think, how we communicate, how we act and how we interact with others. This workshop takes a look at communication styles to help us understand these natural preferences and to recognize how they affect us in our professional and our personal lives. We can use this knowledge to understand our own strengths and weaknesses, enhance teamwork, reduce misunderstandings and conflict, and to work more effectively with others.
It's Not the Age, It's the Mileage!
Do you ever get the feeling that new employees are from a different planet? Or maybe of a different species? Have you ever thought, “I just don’t understand young people today?” Ever wonder what motivates people today, or get frustrated with what you perceive as a poor work ethic, lack of loyalty, lack of respect, or lack of responsibility from the younger generation?
This workshop will help you gain an understanding of your Generation X and Generation Y employees.
-Understand why generational culture is more than age.
-Learn specific things you can do to help engage, motivate and retain the Xers and Yers in your organization.
-Develop a better understanding of how these generational cultures developed.
