Winter Getaways at Ravenwood Castle

Your next stay at Ravenwood Castle is calling! The soon-to-be snowfall creates picturesque settings across the grounds, fireplaces crackle to life, and the entire property feels magical. Whether you’re dreaming of a peaceful winter retreat, a romantic escape, or a weekend full of adventure, winter at the Castle is not to be missed.

Onsite Comfort

The colder months are a time to embrace disconnecting and what better place to do so than the Castle. Start your day with complimentary breakfast in the Great Hall and grab a warm coffee or tea. Spend your afternoon learning a new board game from our extensive library. Play in the Great Hall, Library, or even back in the comfort of your room!

Of course, one of the highlights of the property is the Raven’s Roost Pub. From our curated spirits selection to our incredible lineup of craft beers and cocktails, we offer something for everyone. Another benefit of staying at the Castle is that you don’t have to leave the property to have a delicious meal! Our Pub is open daily for overnight guests and serves a variety of fare such as burgers, flatbreads, housemade soups, and more. If you’re staying at the Castle on a weekend, add on a Great Hall Dinner during the booking process.

Winter Adventure

Just outside the Castle lies a winter wonderland, also known as Hocking Hills, perfect for adventurers. Lace up your hiking boots, bundle up in your winter gear, and get ready to explore! We recommend bringing hiking poles and your camera.

Here a few iconic sites to add to your itinerary:

  • Old Man’s Cave – 20 minutes from the Castle – The one-way loop trail is approximately 1 mile long and is one of the most popular hikes in the area. Off-season midweek days are great times to visit to enjoy a less crowded trail!
  • Ash Cave – 13 minutes from the Castle – The trail is approximately a 1/2 mile long and takes about 40 minutes to hike. Ash Cave is the largest recess cave in the state. The cave has a horseshoe-shaped rim that spans 700 feet with a runoff waterfall.
  • Cedar Falls – 15 minutes from the Castle – The one-way loop trail is about a 1/2 mile long. About halfway through the hike, you will enjoy Cedar Falls, one of the most recognizable Hocking Hills areas.

For a more leisurely outing, book a ride on the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway. This is a great way to see the beauty of the area all within the comfort and warmth of your train car.

Things to Do

Make the most out of your next stay and explore the area – from glassblowing to axe throwing, in-room massages to sauna pods… the possibilities are endless!

Sips & Bites

Alongside all of the great onsite food and drinks at the Castle, we’re centrally located to some of the best Hocking Hills must-visits. Here are just a few of our favorites:
