A Murder at Midnight – Dec 30th & 31st!

Over the years the Ravenwood Detective Agency has tackled a lot of mysteries. One of the things that we enjoy most when setting up a mystery season is creating exciting new themes for our detectives to experience. It’s become something of a tradition to debut one of those new themes during the New Year’s Eve mystery. This year is no exception, as we feature a theme based on the iconic fiction of H.P. Lovecraft. For those not familiar with the Cthulhu mythos, be sure to check out the seminal short story in this horror genre, The Call of Cthulhu.

It was shaping up to be a great holiday weekend at Ravenwood Castle. The guests had all arrived, and each seemed to be excited for the weekend’s festivities. After all, how often could one celebrate the turning of a new year in an idyllic castle?

Yes, everything seemed on track for a wonderful weekend. That is, right up until the screaming started. Wandering into the library shortly after midnight, a guest had discovered a gruesome sight – a circle of candles, a strange statuette, a short diagram containing an indecipherable incantation, and a freshly murdered corpse. Perhaps most troubling of all is the message hastily scrawled on the library wall – “The Old Ones shall awaken!”

The initial conclusion is as unsettling as it is inescapable – this is no ordinary murder, it has all the trappings of an occult ritual. At least the perpetrator or perpetrators were interrupted before they could complete their summoning.

Or were they?

The Ravenwood Detective Agency is calling all agents, novice and veteran alike to investigate. Join us December 30th & 31st for A Murder at Midnight, our first Cthulhu based murder mystery!

Tickets for A Murder at Midnight are $100, and include Monday night’s dinner. As with all of our mysteries, the event starts with dinner on the first night. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Sunday evening.

And stay tuned for announcements about the second half of our exciting 2018-2019 mystery season!

If you haven’t been to one of our mystery weekends and are wondering what they are all about, check out our Murder Mystery page for all of the details. And stay tuned here at Quoth the Raven to hear about the rest of the great mysteries we have planned for this season!
