Ravenwood Castle

COVID-19 Precautions

Dear Ravenwood Castle Guests,

As a hotel and lodging facility, Ravenwood Castle is an essential business, and was therefor allowed to operate throughout the entire course of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. Even so, we chose to voluntarily suspend operations on March 23rd in order to comply with what we believed was the spirit and intent behind Governor Dewine’s statewide closure order. When Governor DeWine announced the Responsible Restart Ohio program, after careful consideration and consultation with the Vinton County Health Department, we resumed operations as of May 1st.

As always, our primary concern is the health and safety of both our staff and guests. As such, we have implemented several changes to our normal operating procedures. These include:

Food Service
As of June 12th, we have resumed all dining operations throughout the Ravenwood Castle property, both indoor and out – with a few modifications for safety and social distancing.

Breakfast – We are serving our famous breakfast buffet – with the added convenience of a staff member manning the buffet station and serving you. We have reduced the number of tables available in the Great Hall in order to comply with social distancing requirements. In order to provide all guests the opportunity to enjoy their breakfast in the Great Hall, we have split our regular breakfast time into two seatings. Please feel free to sign-up for your preferred seating time the night before. But never fear, you don’t have to make any final decisions regarding breakfast time, you are always welcome to come and get your meal to-go, any time during our traditional breakfast hours of 8:30-10:00 AM.

Raven’s Roost Pub – The Raven’s Roost Pub, veranda, and patio are all open for drinks and Pub fare. We have reduced the number of tables available in all three locations in order to ensure social distancing between guests. Our Pub menu is available daily from noon to 9:00 PM, and is also available to-go if requested.

Great Hall Dining – We are once again serving dinner in the Great Hall Friday and Saturday evenings. We have reduced the number of tables available in the Great Hall in order to comply with social distancing requirements. In order to provide all guests the opportunity to enjoy their dinner in the Great Hall, we have split our regular dinner time into two seatings.

Masks and Social Distancing

The first protocol in Responsible Restart is “No mask, no work, no service, no exception.” In order to comply with this all Ravenwood Castle staff will be wearing face masks while on duty. We will also be requiring guests to wear face masks while interacting with our staff, namely during check in and check out, and when ordering and picking up food and beverage items. Please endeavor to bring your own mask when arriving for your reservation. We will attempt to have extra masks, but can not guarantee availability.

We also require social distancing in the common areas and when interacting with staff. This takes the form of limiting groups from gathering in the common areas, as well as limiting the number of people allowed into the office at one time to check in or check out. Please see signage on site for details.

Cleanliness, Sanitization and Hygiene

The remainder of the Responsible Restart protocols focus on cleanliness, sanitization and hygiene. As a matter of routine, Ravenwood Castle takes the cleanliness of our accommodations, common areas and property as a whole very seriously. As such we already follow strict guidelines and procedures to ensure that cleanliness. Out of an abundance of caution, we have implemented an even stricter cleaning regimen, as well as several additional measures to minimize risk, including the frequent cleaning and sanitization of common areas, public bathrooms and other high touch surfaces.

We take the safety of our guests and staff very seriously here at Ravenwood Castle. We are excited to be operating again, and to be welcome our guests back to – responsibly – enjoy our property.
