Jurassic Death – Nov 3rd & 4th

From zombies to a galaxy far, far away, the beginning of the Ravenwood Detective Agency’s 2017-2018 season is covering a lot of ground. For the third mystery in the season we thought we’d return to one of last year’s favorite new settings, a time when dinosaurs ruled the castle…

On a lonely hilltop deep in the forest sits a quaint castle. A little less than a year ago this site was the scene of a science bred horror. A team of scientists pushed the boundaries of genetics and recreated a dozen species of long dead dinosaurs. They proved that they could do it. The dinosaurs proved that they should not have.

Teams of specialists have spent the last nine months securing the area. Hunters and mercenaries have tracked down and eradicated the remaining dinosaur threat, while government scientists have removed all trace of the dangerous research. Life in this primeval forest is set to return to normal.

The day before departure a team of hunters set out for a final sweep of the woods near the castle. They’d barely disappeared into the trees before the screams began. A single surviving member of the patrol stumbled from the woods covered in claw marks… and what appears to be a stab wound. As if that weren’t enough, the project’s chief scientist has disappeared from his lab, along with the repository of cloning research.

Has a previously hidden dinosaur survived the cleanse, or is it just meant to look that way? Are the hunters – and perhaps the missing scientist – victims of deadly dinosaurs, or something more sinister?
