Death in the Fire Swamp – Feb 2nd & 3rd

It’s hard to believe we are nearly half way through the 2017-2018 Murder Mystery season. It’s even harder to believe that this year marks the 30th Anniversary of the Princess Bride! You just know we can’t let that pass without offering a tribute. We can think of no better way to honor one of our favorite movies of all time than with a mystery for our agents to solve!

At the edge of the Fire Swamp sits a lonely outpost, known as Ravenwood Castle. Residents of the castle live by one simple rule – avoid the Fire Swamp. Follow that rule, and life at the castle can be quite peaceful.

So it was with no small amount of trepidation that the Castle Steward and a small team of trackers set off into the Fire Swamp. Their mission was to search for the missing Lord Ravenwood, who was last seen heading into the swamp three days ago. It did not take long for the group to find the body, and few were surprised that the Swamp had claimed another victim.

What was surprising was that Lord Ravenwood’s body lacked any of the usual Fire Swamp related wounds. There were no burns from the swamp’s famous flame spurts, no teeth marks from the swamp’s unusually large rodents, and of course if he had fallen victim to the swamp’s lightning sand he’d not have been found at all. The only apparent injury was what appeared to be a deep scratch… or was it a thin stab wound?

What befell Lord Ravenwood in the Fire Swamp? Was he merely the latest victim of the deadly swamp, or did he meet his fate at the hands of something – or someone – more sinister? Why would he have ventured into the Swamp in the first place? Is there any truth to the recent rumored sightings of the Dread Pirate Roberts, and if so is there any connection to Lord Ravenwood’s demise?

The Brute Squad flatly refuses to enter the swamp to investigate, so the Castle Steward has called in the Ravenwood Detective Agency to get to the bottom of these questions – hopefully without getting to the bottom of a lightning sand pit!

Join the Ravenwood Detective Agency February 2nd & 3rd for Death in the Fire Swamp. Tickets are $100, and include Saturday night’s dinner.
