Hocking Hills Parks Reopening!

As we adjust back to some semblance of normalcy, we are starting to see the reopening of many beloved activities in the Hocking Hills region. The most notable of these is the reopening of many State run parks and hiking areas! The Ohio Department of Natural Resources met with Hocking Hills Tourism Association earlier this month to discuss the next phase of opening, just in time for holiday activities.

As of July 2nd, visitors to Hocking Hills will be able to enjoy previously closed sites such as Old Man’s Cave. There will be limited parking spaces as well as some changes to trail patterns, signage, and maps. Keep an eye out for these, but otherwise, lace up your boots and enjoy the fresh air!  For more information on Ohio’s state park system, please visit ohiodnr.gov.

“The health and safety of the public is our number one concern, and we are moving carefully and deliberately before reopening,” said ODNR Director Mary Mertz. “With safety precautions in place, we look forward to welcoming visitors back to continue exploring these popular areas of Hocking Hills State Park.”
