Dungeons & Dimensions – September 12th & 13th!

Over the years our Ravenwood Detectives have tackled cases covering a myriad of themes and settings. Some settings we’ve only explored once or twice. Some themes are long time favorites and have been explored dozens of times over the years. But few themes have become as popular as that of our tabletop roleplaying inspired mysteries. Introduced in the 2023-2024 season, this setting has quickly turned into an oft-requested guest favorite. So I’m excited to announce the fifth installment of these mysteries, Dungeons & Dimensions…

Ravenwood Castle’s library is perhaps the perfect setting for a game of Dungeons & Dragons. This weekend, like many others, a group of friend gathers around the large wooden table. With the aid of character sheets, dice and maps, they prepare to spend the next few days guiding their fictional characters through a story of fantasy and adventure. Their characters – heroes, thieves, warlocks, and warriors – grew more real as the first night’s session progressed. As the players wove their tale, the barrier between imagination and reality weakened.

The next morning, something went horribly wrong. On a quick after breakfast hike, one of the players discovered a body in the nearby woods. The lifeless corpse lay at the head of the trail to the castle, eyes wide with terror, hand clenching an old iron key – a key the players all recognized – not from the castle, but from their campaign.

As the players try to unravel the truth, disturbing clues surface: strange footprints in the mud that don’t match any modern boot, an otherworldly glow near the trailhead, whispers in a strange language echoing through the castle halls.

The game was supposed to stay on the table.

Now, it’s playing them.

As fear creeps in and trust begins to fray, the players must confront a terrifying question: have their characters – brave, cunning, and sometimes brutal – crossed over into the real world? And if so, who amongst them is capable of murder?

The Ravenwood Detective Agency is calling all agents, veterans and novice alike, to answer these questions and more. Join us September 12th & 13th for Dungeons & Dimensions!

Tickets for Dungeons & Dimensions are $100. As with all of our mysteries, the event starts after dinner on Friday. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Friday evening.

SPECIAL NOTE: Please be aware that while the theme of this mystery involves a game of Dungeons & Dragons gone wrong, the event itself is a murder mystery weekend with all of the usual activities, and is not in fact a game of Dungeons & Dragons.

If you haven’t been to one of our mystery weekends and are wondering what they are all about, check out our Anatomy of a Murder Mystery page for all of the details.
