I’ve often said that out of all the great events we host at Ravenwood, our Beer Tasting weekends are perhaps my personal favorites. This December’s tasting certainly continues that trend, as we welcome a pair of great Cincinnati based breweries to join us for a weekend of good food and great beer. Our next Beer Tasting Weekend will be held November 30th and December 1st, 2018 and will feature Rhinegeist Brewery and MadTree Brewing!
Dinner Friday night features Rhinegeist Brewery. We will be joined by Will and Chris from Rhinegeist, who will share some of their great lineup of brews with us. Friday’s menu will include potato skins with smoked brisket, cheddar cheese and green onions paired with Rhinegeist’s Dad Hoppy Holiday Ale; spinach salad with goat cheese, cranberries and toasted almonds paired with Pilon Saison; penne with smoked chicken, spring veggies and alfredo sauce paired with Odd Job Imperial IPA; and berry cobbler with whipped cream paired with Bubbles Rosé Ale. As a special bonus treat Rhinegeist will be bringing along some Mushhushshu Dark Ale Blend with Coffee, Chocolate & Vanilla, a blend of black beers which is aged for nine months in bourbon barrels and is then infused with coffee, vanilla beans, and cacao nibs, delivering complex flavors of vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit.
Dinner Saturday night features MadTree Brewing. Adam from MadTree will be joining us to share a bit about the brewery and discuss their amazing lineup of brews. Saturday’s menu will include spinach & artichoke dip with wood fired flat breads paired with MadTree’s Lift kolsch; chopped salad of cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers paired with Shade tart fruit ale; red wine braised short ribs, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans paired with Happy Amber; and apple crisp with whipped cream paired with Luna Lux white IPA. As a special treat MadTree will be offering up Thundersnow, a big Scotch Ale with cinnamon, vanilla bean, nutmeg and ginger.
As has become a tradition in our beer tasting weekends, we will have an informal tasting Saturday at noon, which will focus on some of our favorite offerings from the Raven’s Roost Pub menu.
