We are thrilled to announce that the Mad Professor von Gerd, star of our insanely popular Halloweeken events, is back again with the second annual Weekend Werewolf!
Do you enjoy playing social games with your friends and family? Are you familiar with hidden role games like Mafia, Werewolf, or Two Rooms and a Boom? These games involve several players, all of which have a secret identity or power, and some of which may be hidden betrayers. Games like these are often known as “social deduction” games, and are typically won by socializing with your fellow players in an effort to figure out who you can trust – and more importantly, who you can’t.
If the idea of games like this intrigues you, then Weekend Werewolf is for you! Win prizes, make friends, play games, and compete to be crowned 2020 Champion of Weekend Werewolf, the weekend long game of Werewolf!
The Mad Professor von Gerd returns as your irreverent and gregarious host for this weekend of friendly competition and social deduction, featuring round two of Weekend Werewolf! All guests will be randomly assigned a hidden role, each of which grants a special ability. Will you be the dangerous hunter with the ability to kill another guest when you yourself are killed? Or perhaps you’ll be the reluctant mortician, with the ability to discover the true identity of the deceased? Or will you be one of the few werewolves that are devouring guests every meal, eliminating them from the game? Every guest has a special role, and they may work together to figure out which other guests should be tried as evil doers and executed. However, unlike regular Werewolf, executed players are not eliminated from the game. Instead, they take on the role of ghosts who still have a voice, a singular vote, and can make bets on who the next victims may be.
Think of Weekend Werewolf as a weekend long game filled with other social games and opportunities to win actual prizes. It is like a reality show where guests can participate as much or as little as they desire. Earn more points by surviving, predicting what will happen to whom, and participating in other activities. Activities including:
Classic Werewolf: will be the featured Friday evening introductory activity. If you have never experienced the game of Werewolf or Mafia, then this single game will give you all that you need to know about how. This is separate from the entire Weekend Werewolf event, as Friday night Werewolf takes place in a single evening.
Kill Words: will be played throughout the entire weekend. Participating guests will begin with a secret target they need to assassinate. How do you assassinate someone? You are given a list of “kill words” that, when said by your target, leads to your successful assassination of them. Can you get your target to say “spoon?” Try not to be too obvious!
Biddy Parts: will provide large group entertainment Saturday afternoon. In this macabre celebration of our cursed village of Ravenwood, different body parts will be put up for auction. Each part is worth a different amount of points. Guests may bid any number of imaginary dollars they wish. HOWEVER! The highest bidder doesn’t win, but is instead chopped up for the next auction. Only the second highest bidder wins the body part. Can you be the second highest bidder or will you lose…your body parts.
Two Rooms and a Boom! All guests are divided into two teams. The Blue Team has a President. The Red Team has a Bomber. Players are equally distributed between two rooms, and at the end of each of five timed rounds a few selected players trade rooms. If the Red Team’s Bomber is in the same room as the President at the end of the game, then the Red Team wins; otherwise the Blue Team wins.
Fairytale Betrayal: simulates a royal ball straight out of fairy tales. All guests are assigned a classic fairy tale character. Will you be Aladdin? Rapunzel? Or maybe even the wicked Blue Beard? The evil characters summoned a Kansas tornado in the ball, and now all guests are missing their magical artifacts. Can Cinderella find her glass slipper before time runs out? Will the Huntsman find his axe before the Big Bad Wolf finds Riding Hood? Can you trust the Little Mermaid actually has your magical pea, or is that actually a villain in disguise about to give you the poisoned apple? The better you know your fairy tales the better you may fair in this exciting party game!
De-Caption-tated Contest: Throughout Saturday afternoon and evening, certain lurid images will be put on display. Guests are asked to create the best caption for the images. Receive the most votes, and win the head prize.
Thingy! Think hidden role game meets an escape room. All guests are trying to escape the laboratory, but must work together to do so. Unfortunately, some of the guests are infected with a virus and or secretly sabotaging escape efforts while also infecting other guests.
Monster Monikers: Professor von Gerd brings guests together with his variant of the classic game of Celebrities. Participating guests must cooperate with one another against the clock. Can you get your team mates to guess what monster is on your card?
