Room Spotlight – Rapunzel’s Tower

We’re launching a new series with today’s blog post, the Room Spotlight. Each entry in this series, as the name suggests, will shine a spotlight on one of our unique rooms, cottages or cabins.

It only seems appropriate that the first room we spotlight is Rapunzel’s Tower. Why? Because Rapunzel’s Tower was the first room that Pam and I stayed in when we visited Ravenwood Castle eighteen years ago. Though the room has changed quite a bit in the meantime, it still has a special meaning to us, and is one of my personal favorites.

Rapunzel’s Tower, as one would expect, is situated at the top of one of the castle towers. As the only third story suite on site, Rapunzel’s is the highest point in the Ravenwood realm. The room is accessible by stairs for those who lack Rapunzel’s long locks, although it is a bit of a climb. If stairs aren’t your friend, we recommend one of our suites at a slightly lower altitude.

Rapunzel’s Tower clocks in at roughly 400 square feet in size, which amazingly makes it the smallest room on site! Featured in this spacious suite is a queen sized bed, a sitting area with fireplace, an antique writing desk and a full bathroom with shower and tub.

Being the highest point in the realm does afford Rapunzel’s a special quirk – it is one of the few rooms on site that receives relatively reliable cell phone coverage. Not that you’ll want to spend any time on your cell phone with all of the other great things to experience at Ravenwood!

The next time you visit Ravenwood Castle, consider letting your hair down in Rapunzel’s Tower!
