Coming Soon – The Malted Meeple!

We get a lot of feedback from our guests here at Ravenwood Castle. One of the sentiments many guests share is that they wish we were closer to home so they could visit more often. We love to hear that! As you can imagine though, it’s fairly difficult to move a castle, so this is one suggestion we haven’t been able to do much about… until now that is.

Don’t worry, we’re not actually moving the castle – but we are planning to replicate a little bit of it. I’m thrilled to announce The Malted Meeple, a board game café brought to you by the owners of Ravenwood Castle!

The Malted Meeple is your local hangout for Craft Beer, Hobby Gaming and Mega Milkshakes. Patterned off of the Raven’s Roost Pub, the Malted Meeple provides a casual environment, a great selection of craft beer, a library full of amazing games, and a friendly staff more than happy to teach them. Our mission, much like that here at Ravenwood itself, is to provide guests a great place – and a great way – to spend quality time with their family and friends.

The Malted Meeple offers a few new twists, items that you won’t find here at Ravenwood Castle. Most notably, we have added craft milkshakes to our lineup of great beverages. Hand made with locally sourced ice cream, these shakes are sure to put a smile on your face. We’ll even have a Mega Milkshake – at nearly two quarts you’ll want to bring some friends before tackling this beast!

We have also brought back some old favorites, and some familiar faces – including Ravenwood Castle’s very own wandering evangelist Karington Hess! Karington will be managing The Malted Meeple, and will serve as our first Grandmaster Game Instructor.

The Malted Meeple’s first location is in Hudson, Ohio, serving the northeastern Ohio region. We have located an amazing, historic, octagon shaped barn, and are busy renovating it now. It’s worth a trip to the Malted Meeple just to see the massive foundation stones and gorgeous heavy woodwork!

The Malted Meeple will be open for business early next year – we’re targeting late January or early February. In the meantime, be sure to check out our website and Like us on Facebook to receive announcements and information about memberships and special events!

I would be remiss if before closing this post I failed to mention that this is Thanksgiving week. Last year at this time, I shared a few of the things that I was most thankful for here on Quoth the Raven. If possible I am even more thankful this year. I’m thankful for new and continuing friendships, for a year’s worth of amazing new experiences, and most of all for the opportunity to continue serving all of our wonderful friends and guests – both here at Ravenwood Castle and soon at the Malted Meeple as well!
