Beer Tasting Weekend – December 2nd & 3rd

This week we take a break from announcing Murder Mysteries, but don’t worry, there are more mysteries on the way, we promise! Instead we are announcing another of my favorite events a beer tasting! The event will be held December 2nd and 3rd, 2016, and like all of our tastings is no ordinary beer tasting dinner. This event spans two full days of good food and great beer, featuring two amazing breweries!

Dinner Friday night features Great Lakes Brewing Company out of Cleveland Ohio. Scott Hetrick from Great Lakes will be joining us to discuss their amazing lineup of brews. Friday’s dinner will include bacon, jack and green onion corn fritters with house smoked jalapeno aioli paired with Eliot Ness Amber Lager; a garden harvest salad with red wine vinaigrette paired with Dortmunder Gold lager; and a Smoked Maple Sugar brined thick cut pork chop with creamy polenta and grilled vegetables paired with both Commodore Perry IPA and Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. We will be finishing the meal off with a chocolate hazelnut panna cotta paired with Great Lakes’ famous Christmas Ale.

Saturday’s dinner will feature North Coast Brewing from California. John Bisson from North Coast will be on hand to discuss their offerings. Saturday’s dinner menu will include smoked brisket loaded potato skins paired with Old Rasputin; cabbage, lime and cilantro slaw paired with Scrimshaw Pilsner; pulled chicken with handmade noodles, mashed redskins and green beans paired with Pranqster Golden Ale; and a three berry cobbler with fresh whipped cream paired with Old Stock Ale.

As is a tradition in our beer tasting weekends, we will have an informal tasting Saturday at noon. Saturday’s lunch tasting will focus on some of our favorite offerings from the Raven’s Roost menu.

Please join us December 2nd & 3rd for a weekend of great craft brews! Tickets are $75 per person and include dinner Friday and Saturday nights, and samplings of at least a dozen beers throughout the weekend. Click the “Reservation” button at the top of this page or call (740) 596-2606 to book your room now!

Please note that the event starts with dinner on Friday. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Friday evening.
