Con in the Castle 2019!

As the weather warms up our thoughts turn to summer, and our summer gaming convention. We’re thrilled to announce the seventh annual Con in the Castle will be held July 12th and 13th, 2019!

Con in the Castle includes three days of board games, role playing sessions, and general gaming goodness, all – as one might expect – in a castle. This year’s Con in the Castle features the debut of Fireside Games as our Guest of Honor!

Anne-Marie and Justin De Witt from Fireside will be joining us for the convention, and will be bringing some amazing games with them. Fireside is perhaps best known for Castle Panic, and this year is the tenth anniversary of the game. To celebrate, Fireside has released My First Castle Panic, which they’ll be bringing to share with us.

As always, we like to do things big here at Ravenwood. As if the opportunity to play Castle Panic in an actual Castle (don’t panic!) weren’t enough, we thought we’d supersize things a bit. As well as the regular sized version of the game, Anne-Marie and Justin will be bringing a GIANT version with them to share with our guests. This ten foot by ten foot version of the game is sure to be a hit!

Giant Castle Panic Board

Of course the weekend won’t all be about Castle Panic. Fireside’s lineup of games is extensive, and contains such great titles as Hotshots, Kaiju Crush, Bears! and Here, Kitty, Kitty. These and more will all be available for play, as well as all of the other games in Ravenwood’s board game library.

In addition to board gaming, Con in the Castle always features some great role playing activities. This year we will once again offer scheduled sessions of Pathfinder, Starfinder, and Dungeons & Dragons, and possibly some new systems. Game Masters from Ohio Pathfinder Society and the Malted Meeple will be on hand to help you get your adventure on!

It’s no accident that Con in the Castle is set in the middle of the peak season for outdoor activities in the Hocking Hills. In addition to the gaming activity at the convention itself, guests who wish to experience some real life adventure can take advantage of nearby zip lines, canopy tours, hiking, canoeing and horseback riding.

Stay tuned to the Con in the Castle 2019 page for event schedule updates in the coming weeks. In the meantime, be sure to click the “Reservation” button in the upper right of this page to book your room, they’re sure to go fast!
