Midnight Garden of the Living Dead – March 13th & 14th

The time has come mystery fans, for the final murder mystery announcement of the Ravenwood Detective Agency’s 2019-2020 season. This mid-March mystery will be held as Spring returns to Ohio, and the grounds of Ravenwood Castle will (hopefully!) be beginning to bloom. That nice Mr. Denham from the Shadow Stalkers specifically requested that we set this particular weekend aside so that he could revisit one of his favorite themes, the Midnight Garden of the Living Dead…

Over the past several years the grounds of Ravenwood Castle have seen more than their fair share of undead. Sure, every remote castle has the occasional zombie problem, but Ravenwood Castle has been the site of repeated outbreaks, with wandering zombies sporadically infesting the nearby trails, the woods around the castle, and even the castle itself. The castle’s residents had thought they’d seen it all. That is, until the very grounds themselves succumbed to the undead plague!

It started with a sudden overgrowth of poison ivy and toxic mushrooms, which choked off the trails surrounding the castle. Groundskeeping teams dispatched to correct the issue returned shaken and spooked, reporting strange sights and sounds. Some of the groundskeepers even swore that the plants were following them as they made their rounds.

The troubles soon spread to the castle’s gardens. Castle residents awoke one spring morning to find the gardens – neatly trimmed the night before – tangled, overgrown, and infested with the rarely seen Venomous Tentacula.

The loss of the castle’s hedge maze was the final straw. One day an unidentified growth appeared in the center of the maze. From the castle ramparts the oversized plant could be seen swaying in the wind… which was particularly concerning as there was no wind that day. The Head Groundskeeper set off into the maze to investigate and remove the invasive growth. Shortly after his departure a bloodcurdling scream was heard from the maze, and the Head Groundskeeper has not been seen since.

The Ravenwood Detective Agency is calling all agents, veteran and novice alike to investigate this horticultural nightmare. Join us March 13th & 14th for the return of the Midnight Garden of the Living Dead!

Tickets for the Midnight Garden of the Living Dead are $100, and include Saturday night’s dinner. As with all of our mysteries, the event starts with dinner on the first night. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Friday evening.

While this is the final event in the 2019-2020 season, the Ravenwood Detective Agency will be back soon with all new adventures. Stay tuned in the coming months for further details of the 2020-2021 murder mystery season!
