Room Spotlight: Empress Matilda

When you’re booking a getaway at Ravenwood Castle one of the first decisions you have is choosing which of our 21 accommodations to stay in. While the decision may be difficult (and while we may be fairly biased), any of the rooms that you would choose to stay in are sure to leave you feeling comfortable and relaxed.  This week on Quoth the Raven we will be spotlighting our Empress Matilda room located on the second story of the Castle.

The Empress Matilda suite is tucked into one of our Castle towers. Upon entering the main Castle doors after crossing over the drawbridge you will turn right and head up a flight of stairs. From there you’ll enter the suite itself and be wow-ed with a spacious seating area complete with two antique chairs, a couch for lounging, and a coffee table. The gas fireplace is to your left and for ease of use, has an on/off switch located on the side.

The king size bed has two nightstands with separate lights above, just in case you want to get some late-night reading in. You also have the luxury of having the only porch on the front of the Castle – get a spectacular view of the Medieval Village and chessboard from a bird’s eye view!

Across from the bed you’ll find a wooden dresser for unpacking and making yourself feel at home in the Castle! The private bathroom has a large mirror and oversized bathtub with shower.  Next time you’re booking a stay at Ravenwood Castle be sure to consider Empress Matilda as your home away from home for a few days!
