Beer Tasting Weekend – Sept 10th & 11th!

This week we are thrilled to announce the return of our popular Beer Tasting Weekends! For those who haven’t had the pleasure of joining us for one of these events, our Beer Tasting Weekends aren’t your normal beer tasting dinner – these tastings last all weekend long. Two days full of good food, great beer and awesome breweries! While we typically host these weekends in June and December, we’ve decided to add a new weekend this year, September 10th & 11th.

Friday’s dinner features Epic Brewing out of Salt Lake City, Utah. Shawn Mihalko from Epic will be joining us to discuss the brewery, and share their great lineup of brews. Friday’s menu will include Spinach & Artichoke Dip with Wood Fired Flat Breads, paired with Los Locos Lager with sea salt and lime juice; a Toasted Almonds, Dried Cranberries and Goat Cheese Romain Salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette, paired with Lemon Bomb with fresh lemon juice and peel; Maple Glazed Smoked Turkey, Rosemary Roasted Red Potatoes and Brussel Sprouts with a Balsamic Reduction, paired with Chasing Ghosts Imperial New England IPA, and Berry Cobbler with Whipped Cream paired with Big Bad Baptist Whiskey Barrel-aged Imperial Stout with Chocolate & Coffee. Shawn will also be bringing along a bonus beer from Epic’s Oak & Orchard Series, a Strawberry Rhubarb Oak-aged Sour.

Dinner Saturday night features Urban Artifact out of Cincinnati. Griffin Kruse from the brewery will be joining us to share a bit about Urban Artifact, and discuss their offerings. Saturday’s menu includes Smoked Chicken Wings in Buffalo Sauce, paired with Centerpiece, a pineapple – strawberry midwest fruit tart; a Chop Salad of Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Peppers, Romain with Balsamic Dressing, paired with Bushel, a spiced apple gose; Wood Fired Smoked Brisket, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans, paired with The Gadget, a blackberry – raspberry midwest fruit tart (and incidentally one of my personal favorite beers!); and Apple Crisp with Whipped Cream, paired with Keypunch, a keylime gose. The festivities will begin with a welcome beer, Spyglass, a lemon-lime tart ale. As you can likely tell from the lineup, Urban Artifact specializes in tarts and goses, which will make this a special evening for fans of sours!

As has become a tradition during our beer tasting weekends, there will be an informal tasting lineup Saturday at noon, which will feature some of our favorite offerings from the Raven’s Roost Pub.

Please join us September 10th & 11th for a weekend of great craft brews! Tickets are $75 per person and include dinner Friday and Saturday nights, and samplings of at least a dozen beers throughout the weekend. Click the “Reservation” button at the top of this page or call (740) 596-2606 to book your room now!

Please note that the event starts with dinner on Friday. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Friday evening.
