Room Spotlight: Queen Victoria

From 1837 until her death in 1901, Queen Victoria reigned over the United Kingdom. Having had such an influential footprint on history, the Victorian era was named in her honor. Ravenwood Castle took inspiration when naming our Castle rooms from a variety of royalty across the pond and followed suit by dubbing one of them the Queen Victoria suite.

Queen Victoria is a first-floor suite off of our Great Hall, just steps away from where breakfast and weekend buffets are served. Being a Castle room, Queen Victoria has access to WiFi and is only steps away from the main lobby which means our board game collection and scavenger hunt lists are easily accessible. With 100+ board games and now four scavenger hunts for guests to choose from, there is never a shortage of things to do!

Upon entering, your eyes will immediately gravitate toward the ornate wooden bedframe. The embellishments add to the enchanting feel of the room and the queen bed is situated between two bedside tables. Placed on top of one of those tables happens to be one of my favorite pieces at the Castle: a breathtaking stained-glass lamp with two light pulls featuring a peacock wrapped around the bottom. That’s just one of the reasons why booking time away at the Castle is exciting – the fact that Ravenwood is home to 21 unique rooms all with different décor and furniture pieces truly makes each stay one-of-a-kind.

Similar to our other Castle accommodations, Queen Victoria has a standard tub and shower. In one corner of the room, you will find an antique couch and fireplace. Ideally, you’d end a long day of adventuring Hocking Hills by enjoying a Castle Butterbeer here. Queen Victoria was also a very gifted painter and writer and perhaps a stay in our Queen Victoria suite will bring you inspiration too!

Better yet the suite has plenty of natural light with two windows and a door that leads outside to a small deck area for some relaxation while overlooking the Castle grounds. When you’re booking your next stay at the Castle be sure to check if Queen Victoria is available – you’re sure to feel like royalty!
