The Scarlet Raven and A Page Out of Time – Aug 19th & 20th!

It has been quite some time since I’ve written an announcement for one of our extremely popular murder mysteries – nearly two and a half years in fact. I am pleased to announce that the detectives are finally back from their hiatus, the scoundrels and villains are once again up to their misdeeds, and the Ravenwood Detective Agency is ready to embark upon adventure!

A lot has changed since our last mystery in March of 2020. One especially significant change was the retirement of our long time mystery partner, Mr. Denham of the Shadow Stalkers. We will miss Mr. Denham and the entire Shadow Stalkers crew, and wish them all the best in their well-earned retirements.

So along with this mystery, the first in our 2022 – 2023 season, I am thrilled to announce the debut of Michelle and Ryan Durkin of Moonlight Murders. Long time veterans of the Ravenwood Detective Agency, Michelle and Ryan come equipped with an intricate understanding of what makes our mysteries special, as well as exciting new ideas to build on the existing formula. For their debut showing as Chief Detectives, Michelle and Ryan will be leading our agents as they revisit one of our most popular recent themes, and return to the world of the comic pages…

The mood was tense as the super heroes convened for their super-top-secret annual meeting. At least, it was supposed to be an annual meeting. For as the heroes gathered they came to a shocking and disturbing realization… they had no recollection of last year’s meeting. To be more precise, they had no recollection of the last year at all!

Of course the body didn’t help the mood either.

As the heroes were struggling with the apparent gap in their memories, they discovered their Chief Recordkeeper and Historian, dead on the floor of his office, clutching a mysterious broken crystal. Pinned to his chest was a page torn from last year’s calendar, on its back a note scrawled in all-too-familiar handwriting:

You’ve beaten me thrice, I’m loathe to admit,
Though that hardly means that I’m going to quit.
My triumph is here, sweet victory is mine,
for now I am the very master of time!

– The Scarlet Raven

As they often did in situations such as this, the heroes called in their allies at the Ravenwood Detective Agency. To their dismay, they discovered that the detectives weren’t immune to the Scarlet Raven’s machinations. They too had apparently lost time, as no detective could recall anything since their successful completion of the Case of the Midnight Garden of the Living Dead… over two years ago!

Could it be true, could the Scarlet Raven have actually stolen time itself? And if so, for what purpose? Can the heroes and detectives bring an end to his schemes, and more importantly his horrible nursery rhymes?

The Ravenwood Detective Agency is calling all agents and heroes to investigate these questions and more. Tune in August 19th & 20th, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel, for the next episode in our Super Hero themed Murder Mystery Weekends!

Tickets for The Scarlet Raven and a Page Out of Time are $100 and include Saturday night’s dinner. As with all of our mysteries, the event starts with dinner on Friday. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Friday evening.

And stay tuned for more announcements about our exciting 2022-2023 event season!

If you haven’t been to one of our mystery weekends and are wondering what they are all about, check out our Murder Mystery page for all of the details. And stay tuned here at Quoth the Raven to hear about the rest of the great mysteries we have planned for this season!
