This week I am thrilled to announce the next installment in our popular series of Beer Tasting Weekends! For those of you who may not have had the pleasure of joining us for one of our Beer Tasting Weekends, they aren’t your normal beer tasting dinner. First of all, these tastings last all weekend long. Two days full of good food, great beer and awesome breweries! This event will be June 2nd & 3rd, 2023, and features Bells & New Belgium Breweries out of Michigan and Fat Heads Brewery from here in Ohio.
Friday’s dinner will showcase a mixed lineup of Bells and New Belgium brews, shared with us by Bill King from the newly combined breweries. Friday evening will begin with Bells Hazy Hearted (Hazy IPA) as the welcome beer, followed by a dinner menu of Spinach & Artichoke Dip with Wood Fired Flat Breads paired with Bells Oberon (Wheat Ale); Spinach salad with Goat Cheese, Cranberries and Toasted Almonds with Balsamic Dressing paired with New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Fruit Force (Fruit Punch IPA); Smoked Chicken Quarters, Roasted Rosemary Red Potatoes & Green Beans in Brown Butter paired with Bells Two Hearted (IPA); and Decadent Chocolate Brownies paired with New Belgium Fat Tire (Classic Ale).
Saturday’s dinner features the return of Fat Heads Brewery, represented by Ashley Franz. Saturday’s menu will include Fresh Hop Freddy (Limited Fresh Hop IPA) as the welcome beer, followed by Smoked Chicken Wings in Buffalo Sauce with Blue Cheese paired with Benjamin Danklin (Seasonal IPA); Chop Salad of Cucumbers, Tomatoes and Red Onions tossed in a Red Wine Vinaigrette paired with Bumbleberry (Honey Blueberry Ale); Bourbon & Brown Sugar Glazed Pork Loin, Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Maple glazed Carrots paired with Head Hunter (West Coast IPA); and Warm Apple Crisp with Fresh Whipped Cream paired with Goggle Fogger (German Style Hefeweizen).
As has become tradition during our beer tasting weekends, there will be an informal tasting Saturday at noon, which will feature some of our favorite offerings from the Raven’s Roost Pub. And of course we will be offering a great lineup of beer, including more from Fat Heads, Bells and New Belgium in the Pub all weekend long.
