Murder in Midgard – Sept 13th & 14th!

The 2024-2025 Murder Mystery season is right around the corner, and we here at Ravenwood Castle are excited for this season’s lineup of mysteries. This week I am thrilled to announce the second mystery of the 2024-2025 season, which features the return of one of last season’s favorite new themes. Please join Chief Detectives Michelle and Ryan as the Ravenwood Detective Agency takes on another Viking themed mystery, Murder in Midgard…

The night was veiled in a shroud of mist, casting an eerie glow over Ravenwood Castle. Nestled deep in the heart of the ancient forest, the castle stood as a relic of forgotten times, where history and myth often intertwined. This evening, the castle was alive with an unusual festivity – an opulent masquerade ball that drew the elite and the curious alike. Among the guests, hidden behind elaborate masks, were whispers of gods and legends, rumors that spoke of divinity mingling with mortals.

As the clock struck midnight, the revelry was shattered by a piercing scream. The great hall fell silent, the haunting melody of the orchestra abruptly ending as all eyes turned towards the source of the commotion. There, lying motionless at the foot of the grand staircase, was a figure cloaked in elegance and mystery. The victim’s mask lay shattered beside his lifeless body, revealing the pale face of none other than Baldr, the Norse god of light and purity.

Gasps rippled through the crowd as recognition dawned on those in attendance. Baldr, beloved by all, had been murdered. As panic set in, a lone figure stood in the shadows, a sly smile playing on his lips. Loki had slipped into the ball unnoticed, blending seamlessly with the mortals. With a flick of his wrist and a few sly words, the trickster god planted evidence and sowed doubt, leading the mortal guests to the conclusion that Baldr had been slain by one amongst the castle staff. Finding themselves accused, the bewildered and frightened castle team have turned to the Ravenwood Detective Agency to prove their innocence.

The masquerade guests, once entertained by illusion, now find themselves trapped in a deadly game of treachery and godly wrath. The truth lays hidden beneath layers of deceit, and only the keenest minds can unravel the mystery that now envelops Ravenwood Castle. Is Loki merely creating chaos for his own entertainment, or does he have a more sinister motive? Are the castle staff simply a convenient target for his mischief, or were they specifically targeted? And what actually happened to the god Baldr?

The Ravenwood Detective Agency is calling all agents, novice and veteran alike, to answer these questions and more. Join us September 13th & 14th for Murder in Midgard!

Tickets for Murder in Midgard are $100. As with all of our mysteries, the event starts after dinner on Friday. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Friday evening.
