It hasn’t been long since we wrapped up last season’s final murder mystery, but the Ravenwood Detective Agency never stays idle for long. We’ve been hard at work putting together the 2026-2027 Murder Mystery season. During the process we experienced a bit of serendipity, as life appeared to imitate art. One of our oft requested mystery themes involves cryptids – and specifically Bigfoot. We had decided to explore that theme in the first mystery of the season, and just as we made that decision Northeast Ohio entered national news due to a sudden surge of Bigfoot sightings. The experts all agreed that a herd was on the move, though none knew exactly why, or to where. Until now that is. Strange rumors were spreading in the towns around Ravenwood Castle. Hikers spoke of massive footprints just off the marked trails. Late night drivers swore to seeing towering, fur covered figures crossing the moonlit roads in large numbers. The traditional news agencies even picked up the trail, with stories in the papers and on television of a migrating herd of Bigfoot, moving southward from Northeast Ohio.

Most of the castle guests laughed the stories off, as discussion in the Great Hall turned to how gullible someone had to be to believe in legendary monsters in the night. It’s easy to be confident when the dark of the storm is safely outside the castle walls. The confidence turned to fear as the lightning flashed, the Great Hall lights went out and a startling crash was heard throughout the castle. The glow of the emergency lights revealed an overturned chair at the head of one of the tables, it’s previous occupant nowhere to be seen. A trail of overly large wet footprints led from the Great Hall to the castle doors, open and swinging in the storm’s wind. The missing guest’s broken body was found at the edge of the woods, surrounded by large footprints leading off into the woods.

Was there truth to the rumors, was there an actual Bigfoot on the grounds of Ravenwood Castle? And if so, why had it attacked this specific guest? Or was there a more mundane villain amongst the gathering crowd, someone using the rumors of the legendary creature as a convenient cover for their dastardly deed?

Tickets for Death by Bigfoot are $100. As with all of our mysteries, the event starts after dinner on Friday. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Friday evening.
