Game Convention Update

Hoop & Stick 2014

We are hard at work putting the finishing touches on our winter gaming convention, Hoop & Stick. We’re looking forward to Colby Dauch’s return as Guest of Honor. He will be demoing many of Plaid Hat Games’ recent hits, and I’m betting we’ll be able to talk him into running a Summoner Wars tournament for us as well.

We hope to raise even more money for Child’s Play than we did last year – our goal is an aggressive $7,500! We have a great lineup of supporters who are helping us reach that goal through generous donations for the silent auction. We’re continuing to accept donations and sponsors for the next month, so if you or someone you know would like to help out, give us a shout!

Although all of our rooms have already been booked for Hoop & Stick, you can still join us at the convention and support Child’s Play by purchasing an offsite ticket. Call us at (740) 596-2606 or email info@ravenwoodcastle.com for information.

Con in the Castle 2014

One gaming convention a year just isn’t enough for us at Ravenwood, so we’re also planning our second annual summer convention. Con in the Castle 2014 will be held July 18th to 20th. We’re thrilled to announce that our Guest of Honor will be none other than Richard Launius from King Richard Games!

Richard is responsible for such titles as Arkham Horror, Elder Sign, Ace Detective and Defenders of the Realm. He will be playing these and other games with guests, as well as demoing some of the new prototypes he’s working on. We look forward to having King Richard in the Castle!

It’s no accident that Con in the Castle is set in the peak season for outdoor activities in the Hocking Hills. In addition to all of the gaming activity at the convention itself, guests who wish to get out and see some nature can take advantage of the nearby zip lines, canopy tours, hiking, canoeing and horse back riding. In the spirit of the season, we will also be replacing our traditional Medieval Style dinner with an outdoor barbecue!

Look for more details and an event schedule in the coming months.  Rooms are already starting to book, so be sure to visit Con in the Castle 2014 if you want to secure a spot on site!
