Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Dear Ravenwood Castle Guests,

As of 9:00 PM this evening, Governor DeWine has ordered the closure of in-house operations of all Ohio bars and restaurants. While specifics of this order are still developing, it is our understanding that it includes dining room food service within hotel settings.

Effective immediately, we will be discontinuing food service within the Great Hall and the Raven’s Roost Pub. To be clear, breakfast will continue to be available with all reservations, it will simply be made available in a take-out manner. Similarly, the Raven’s Roost Pub will continue to offer our menu of pub fare for both lunch and dinner, also in a take-out format. Finally, it is our expectation that the several restaurants which currently deliver to Ravenwood Castle, such as Mama Renie’s Pizza, will continue to do so. With these options available, you will continue to be able to enjoy your secluded getaway at Ravenwood Castle, while taking your meals in the comfort and seclusion of your own suite, cottage or cabin.

It is our understanding that the primary purpose of the Governor’s order is to minimize those situations where congregations of people are gathering in close physical proximity. As we mentioned in our earlier update, our suites, cottages and cabins are distributed throughout our 53 acre property, meaning guests are free to enjoy a Ravenwood Castle vacation in relative privacy and seclusion.

Unfortunately, some of our events do include activities that would place people into close groups. One such event is the upcoming Weekend Werewolf, which includes many group games. While the event does not involve food or beverage and therefore does not fall under the Governor’s closure order, we believe that it fits under the Governor’s intent. As such, out of an abundance of caution, we will be cancelling Weekend Werewolf. We will be contacting those of you with reservations for the event in the coming days. You will have the opportunity to transfer your reservation to the extremely popular and very similar Halloween event, or receive full credit for another event or travel date of your choice.

Finally, with the exception of the modifications to food service as noted above, we intend to continue regular operations. We do however realize that some of you may prefer to move your reservations to a later date when the world’s circumstances have returned to something more normal. To facilitate this, for the foreseeable future we will allow reservations to be rescheduled without penalty, or converted to a gift certificate for future travel.

As always, we will continue to monitor this developing situation, and will provide additional details as we have them. In the meantime, we thank you for your continued support.
