The 2026-2027 murder mystery season has officially begun! Our detectives have closed the first two cases of the season, but there are plenty more mysteries on the way. This week I’m excited to announce the next mystery of the season, in which we continue exploring pop culture in the last fifty years. Please join Chief Detectives Michelle and Ryan as they lead the Ravenwood Detective Agency in a trip to the 80s, in the case of the Breakfast Club Murders…

The Ravenwood Castle event team had been excited for this year’s new lineup of events, a series of weekends celebrating pop culture throughout the last fifty years. The inaugural event paying homage to the 70s was a roaring success… assuming you discounted the unfortunate murder. But then again, what’s a Ravenwood Castle event without a murder or two? So it was perhaps understandable that the team approached the second event with a touch of trepidation. Everybody loved the 80s and the event was shaping up to be totally tubular, so long as they could avoid any unpleasant surprises.

The guests arrived Friday evening with their big hair and shoulder pads, leg warmers and spandex, and mullets and jean jackets. The neon was bright, the music was loud, and the hairspray was practically flammable. The event was off to a spectacular start, and everyone was looking forward to Saturday morning’s featured Breakfast Club activity, complete with plenty of antics and attitude, 80s trivia and embarrassing confessions.

But before the credits could roll on the morning’s fun, one of the guests was found dead at their table, a bloody Rubik’s Cube at their side.

As the gasps of surprise rang out throughout the hall, the guests gathered into their cliques, the jocks eyed the nerds, the punks cast distrustful looks at the preppies, and the goths stood alone.

Was this simply a horrible accident, or was it like, totally murder? Had someone come to the weekend with more than nostalgia on their mind? And above all, just where was the beef?

The Ravenwood Detective Agency is requesting that all agents don their parachute pants and acid washed denim and answer these questions and more. Join us December 30^th & 31^st for the Breakfast Club Murders!

Tickets for the Breakfast Club Murders are $100. The event starts after dinner on Wednesday December 30th. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Wednesday evening.
