We host a lot of events here at Ravenwood every year. I enjoy them all, but my personal favorite type of event has to be our two annual Beer Tasting Weekends. These are no ordinary beer tasting dinners – the events last two full days, and are chock full of good food, great beer and amazing breweries. Our next Beer Tasting Weekend will be held June 8th and 9th, 2018, and will feature the debut of two great breweries!
Dinner Friday night features local favorite Jackie O’s Brewery from Athens, Ohio! Seth Morton and Sophia Karageorge from Jackie O’s will be joining us to share their lineup of amazing brews. Friday’s menu will include spinach and artichoke dip with wood fired flat breads paired with Mystic Mama IPA; toasted almonds, cranberries and goat cheese romain salad with raspberry vinaigrette paired with Perpetum Sour Wheat Ale; maple glazed smoked turkey with roasted red potatoes and brussel sprouts with a balsamic reduction paired with Chomolungma Honey Nut Brown Ale; and chocolate pudding cake with whipped cream paired with Dark Apparition Russian Imperial Stout.
Dinner Saturday night features the debut of Founders Brewing out of Michigan. David Hill from Founders will be joining us to share a bit about the brewery and discuss their amazing offerings. Saturday’s menu will include smoked chicken wings in buffalo sauce paired with All Day IPA, chop romain salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and balsamic dressing paired with Rubaeus; red wine braised short ribs, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans paired with Founders Porter, and apple crisp with whipped cream paired with Backwoods Bastard.
As is a tradition in our beer tasting weekends, we will be hosting an informal tasting lineup Saturday at noon, which will feature some of our favorite offerings from the Raven’s Roost Pub.
