In this week’s blog I am thrilled to announce the second mystery in our 2022-2023 season! Michelle and Ryan from Moonlight Murders will be joining us once again in the role of Chief Detectives, and will be bringing our agents back to one of our favorite settings…
The past few years have been troubling for the Ravenwood School of Myth and Magic. The otherwise peaceful school has been rocked by a series of most unfortunate events, including the magical murder of an unpopular professor, followed by mystical mayhem caused by a traveling peddler of – apparently cursed – magical curiosities. The new Headmaster is bound and determined that this year will be different. This year will be completely calm, and mundane. Well, as mundane as a magical academy can be that is.
It started out well. At least, the first few hours of classes seemed to go well, right up until the first session of Divination for Novices. Intent on demonstrating his art, the Divinations professor called upon a student to volunteer a question. One young student raised her hand, and whispered a question into the Professor’s ear. The Professor turned to his crystal ball and began his divination. A short pause. A look of surprise on the Professor’s face. And then the Professor keeled over, deader than the proverbial doorknob.
The initial investigation suggests that the Professor’s death is far from natural, and most likely connected to the divination itself. Unfortunately, in the chaos that followed the incident the young student who provided the question seems to have vanished.
Was the Divination Professor the victim of an unfortunate accident, or something more sinister? What happened to the student who volunteered the question – and just what was the question she posed? Could someone wish to keep it unanswered badly enough to commit magical murder?
The Ravenwood Detective Agency is calling all agents, witches and wizards to investigate the incident. Join us November 4th & 5th for the Case of the Deadly Divining!
Tickets for the Case of the Deadly Divining are $100, and include Saturday night’s dinner. As with all of our mysteries, the event starts with dinner on the first night. Late arrivals will be accommodated as best as possible, but to enjoy the full experience please attempt to arrive early Friday evening.
And stay tuned for more announcements about our exciting 2022-2023 event season!
