Con in the Castle 2023!

As the days begin to grow longer, our thoughts once again turn to summer and our summer gaming convention! We are thrilled to announce the eleventh annual Con in the Castle, July 14th and 15th, 2023!

Con in the Castle includes three days of board games, role playing sessions, and general gaming goodness, all – as one might expect – in a castle. This year’s Con in the Castle features the return of a very special Guest of Honor – Alan Gerding of Tuesday Knight Games!

Alan is a familiar face here at Ravenwood Castle. In addition to this being his second time joining us as Guest of Honor at Con in the Castle, Alan – or more accurately his alter-ego The Mad Professor Von Gerd – is the host of our extremely popular Weekend Werewolf and Halloweekend events. In his role as mild mannered game developer, Alan will be sharing some of Tuesday Knight Games’ game lineup with us, including Two Rooms and a Boom, That’s Not Lemonade, and Mothership RPG. If you are familiar with Mothership the Sci-fi Horror RPG, then you’ll feel right at home with Tuesday Knight Games next roleplaying game, Fatherfog the Fairytale Horror RPG. Alan plans on running a session (or two) of Fatherfog as well as playtesting many other possible future publications by Tuesday Knight Games.

In addition to these hits from Tuesday Knight Games, we will have a variety of Learn To Play sessions featuring various board games, and of course all of the games in Ravenwood’s board game library will be available for general play.

It wouldn’t be a Ravenwood Castle game convention without role playing games, so we will once again offer scheduled sessions of Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Starfinder, and other systems. Game Masters from the Ohio Pathfinder Society will be joining us to run these sessions and more!

And while there will be plenty of indoor gaming, it is no accident that Con in the Castle is scheduled in the midst of the peak season for outdoor activities in the Hocking Hills. In addition to the gaming activity at the convention itself, guests who wish to experience some real life adventure can take advantage of nearby zip lines, canopy tours, hiking, canoeing and horseback riding.

Join us the weekend of July 14th & 15th for Con in the Castle 2023! Tickets for Con in the Castle are $75. Please note that in a change from previous Con in the Castle events, dinner Saturday is no longer required for all attendees, and has been removed from the package price. Click the “Reservation” button in the upper right of this page to book your room, they’re sure to go fast!
